I am deeply invested in getting to know you as a couple and what you stand for. I make sure that you feel heard and that your needs are being listened to, keeping in mind I am here to serve you first and foremost. We collaborate on your vision from the moment we start working together and make sure every little detail leading up to your day is executed flawlessly. I feel more like a friend than a vendor, always making sure you feel cared for.

I am flexible and understanding. I want you to feel that you can ask me a burning question late at night over text or ask me to move your engagement because you forgot it’s your Mom’s birthday. I am a photographer, but human too and very accommodating.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

My eyes (and ears) are always open. I capture every detail of your day (the big, little and in between) while carefully considering lighting, depth, texture, and so many other factors that will ultimately craft a polished, thoughtful image. Every photo is hand-edited to perfection, taking in consideration the emotion and story behind the photo, so the edit not only compliments the moment captured, but elevates it. You can expect a wide range of vibrant, true-to-life color images and sophisticated black and whites.

I consistently invest in myself, both artistically and professionally. I study great photographers, immerse myself at art museums for inspiration, attend photography and business workshops, and expand my skill set one-on-one from some of the best mentors in the industry. I love to learn and pride myself on committing to growing as an artist and human, never standing still.

Being in multiple large music ensembles taught me the art of working alongside other creatives. I bring an energetic and collaborative spirit when working with other vendors, especially videographers. Whether we are meeting the day of or beforehand, rest assured, we will make an excellent team.

My goal is to not only bring great energy to your day, but to have it elevate your day – so that you feel beautiful and confident in front of the camera, so that your guests feel they can come up to me for a photo with their friends, and most importantly so that working together feels effortless. In short, you can count on me to be your hype woman when you’re feeling a bit shy behind the camera or holding your hand as you calm your nerves the ten minutes before walking down the aisle.

ONE STEP AHEAD MINDSET

I am always thinking one step ahead. I’ve already sent your COI to your venue, scouted engagement spots throughout your favorite part of the city, emailed all of your vendors introducing myself, and asked your florist to bring extra stems for the flat lay photo. I’ve brought extra bobby pins and have a rain plan. I have a hook to hang your dress on. I’ve brought back up gear, extra rolls of film and way too many extra batteries.

THE BACK-UP PROCESS

I shoot all sessions on cameras that have dual card slots, meaning every image I take is backed up to two cards. If one fails (which it never has!), I have the other card to depend on. Before I even leave your venue, one copy of all cards goes in my card case in my backpack, and the other card case in my jacket or pocket. This ensures complete and total protection of your images in case someone tries to pull a move on me and my gear on the way home. When I get home, your images are all backed up to 5 different sources. Following delivery, all images remain on my drives indefinitely. I want you to feel reassured that I prioritize the safety of your once in a lifetime images.

SOCIAL SHARPNESS AND ATTENTIVITY

My ability to read and blend into a room is invaluable. I know exactly when to step in and direct and when to step back. I know when to let my couples have a moment, and if the manner of directing needs to be quieter or more hype up energy. I am always carefully observing and anticipating moments so that your photos feel the most natural they can possibly be. I can converse and interact well with shy family members, loud family members, big crowds and little crowds. I am able to integrate myself within the guests, blending in seamlessly. I am attentive and can match the energy of a room and situation.

I prioritize consistent, quick and seamless communication. I also understand how this creates a sense of trust and reliability, therefore helping to maintain the successful relationship I want us to have. You will never have to chase me down to answer an email or message.

As we work together, we’ll go through a detailed checklist involving vision mood board creation, questionnaires, guides and scheduled calls/Facetimes. My online client management system is masterfully streamlined, so the process of us working together will always feel seamless and effortless.

If everything looks amazing and you’re IN (yay!), I will send over a contract. Once you sign and send over your retainer, it’s official (double yay)!

I’ll ask for your Pinterest board or photo inspo and create a custom photography mood board for you, I’ll send helpful guides and detailed questionnaires, we’ll have calls and planning brunches - you name it.

  • That is a-okay! While I specialize in black and white photography, I understand that you may want a certain ratio of color to B&W images - especially if color will play an integral part of your wedding (ex. your wedding setting, detail choices, etc.) My number one priority is to serve your needs and make your vision come to life so I cater to each couples’ stylistic preferences.

  • Yes, absolutely! The biggest reason I suggest having someone assist with the logistical side of things is that you won’t have to worry about a single thing - no chasing down your family for formal photos or figuring out how to get from one location to the other in a sudden rainstorm. Everything being handled for you means less stress - and photos that reflect that smooth, effortless feeling you deserve to have on your big day.

  • Because I believe each couple has different needs and desires, I custom create 3 options after our initial call. The average Rachel Rodgers Weddings couple invests between $9-11k for full day wedding coverage.

  • If I said no, I would fully expect you to leave my site right now! :) Please bring your furry friend along for your engagement session, getting ready photos, ceremony, reception, you name it. Can’t bring them to your wedding day? Fully expect me to photoshop your favorite photo of them into a few of your wedding photos.
